Forties Pipeline System Investment
INEOS is investing £500 million to upgrade the Forties Pipeline System (FPS), extending its life into the 2040s. The 500km pipeline, which began operations in 1975, transports up to 600,000 barrels of North Sea oil daily, accounting for 40% of the UK’s oil and gas. The investment will enhance reliability, modernize environmental systems, and incorporate the latest technology.
Grangemouth Site Development
INEOS is committing £350 million to develop a new steam and power plant at its Grangemouth site. This project aims to significantly improve energy efficiency and long-term reliability, supporting the refinery, FPS, and the broader UK economy.
New VAM Plant in Hull
INEOS will invest £150 million to construct a new Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) plant in Hull, with an expected capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year. VAM is a crucial raw material used in products such as laminated windscreens, toughened glass, adhesives, coatings, films, textiles, and carbon fiber. This investment will bring VAM production back to the UK, strengthening domestic manufacturing and boosting exports.
