Project Expansion
Global Bioenergies has announced plans to increase the production capacity of its upcoming isobutene plant in France. The new facility will produce 10,000 tonnes of isobutene and derivatives annually, a significant increase from the previously planned 2,000 tonnes. This expansion aims to meet the growing demands of industrial, commercial, and financial partners.
Market Focus
The plant will primarily target the cosmetics market, with future plans to supply the sustainable aviation fuel market. Global Bioenergies has recently obtained ASTM certification, which is crucial for entering the aviation fuel sector.
Financial Performance
In the first half of the year, Global Bioenergies reported revenue of €2.4 million. Despite generating sales, the commercial activities of the Pomacle unit have been deprioritized due to low associated margins. The company is now focusing its efforts on the new plant, which is scheduled to come on stream by the end of 2027.
Future Plans
Global Bioenergies is also exploring the deployment of its technology in other regions and with different feedstocks, in collaboration with international industrial groups. The design and construction schedules for the new plant will be released by the end of 2023.
