Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH (CATT) has received the second partial approval for its new battery cell production plant in Thuringia, Germany. The plant will have an initial capacity of 8 GWh per year.

The plant, Germany’s first battery factory, is in the final stages of construction. Machine installation is ongoing, with the first cells expected to roll off the assembly lines by the end of 2022.
