BASF extends its CAM supply agreement, reinforcing its position in European battery materials with its automated Schwarzheide plant, the only one of its kind in Germany.

They will collaborate on innovative cathode materials, with support from a global production network to enhance business development in the battery industry.

The new 100 GWh plant in Debrecen will supply European automakers, use renewable energy, and explore local partnerships for battery materials, enhancing CATL's global network and e-mobility efforts.

The plant in Thuringia received approval for 8 GWh capacity. Construction is nearly complete, with production starting by end of 2022, creating 1,500 jobs and promoting e-mobility in Germany.
