Feasibility Study for New ENB Unit

INEOS has initiated a feasibility study to explore the construction of a new world-scale Ethylidene Norbornene (ENB) production unit. This would be the second ENB asset for the company, complementing the existing unit in Antwerp, Belgium, which is currently undergoing a capacity expansion set to be completed by late 2019.

Potential Locations

Several locations are under consideration for the new ENB unit, including sites in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. Additionally, the option of adding a second production line in Antwerp is being evaluated.

Operational Timeline

The goal is to have the new ENB unit operational by 2023, addressing the growing demand for ENB, particularly from customers producing EPDM rubber.

Supply Chain Considerations

INEOS is also reviewing investment options to secure an additional supply of Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) to support the new ENB unit. This strategic move aims to bolster the company's ENB production capabilities and support its global customer base.
