New Plant and Increased Capacity
Praxair, Inc. has started up its second air separation plant in the Port of Antwerp, significantly increasing its oxygen and nitrogen production capacity. The new facility, with a capacity of 1,300 tons per day, will support customers with long-term contracts and produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. These products will cater to the pharmaceutical, chemical, glass, metal fabrication, manufacturing, and food & beverage industries in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Pipeline Extensions
In addition to the new plant, Praxair has commenced construction on additional oxygen and nitrogen pipeline extensions on both the east and west banks of the Port of Antwerp. These extensions are expected to be completed by the end of 2016, further enhancing the company's ability to serve its regional customers.
Strategic Importance
The Port of Antwerp is the largest chemical and petrochemical complex in Europe, making it a strategic location for Praxair's expansion. The company's investments in the new plant and pipeline infrastructure position it well to grow alongside the Port's ongoing infrastructure developments.
