LANXESS and TotalEnergies collaborate on sustainable styrene

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS and French energy group TotalEnergies have partnered to supply biocircular styrene, a sustainable alternative to conventional styrene. LANXESS uses the styrene to produce sustainable ion exchange resins for wastewater treatment, chemical processes, and the food industry. The styrene's sustainable origin is certified according to the ISCC PLUS standard, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain. LANXESS aims to make its supply chains climate-neutral by 2050 and has launched the Net Zero Value Chain Program, which includes sourcing sustainable raw materials and developing climate-neutral products.
