AkzoNobel boosts expandable microspheres capacity to meet rising demand

AkzoNobel's Specialty Chemicals business is investing over €20 million to expand production capacity for its Expancel product line in Sweden. The expansion is in response to increasing demand for Expancel, which is used in various industries including food packaging, paints, and automotive. Expancel is made up of expandable microspheres that can expand up to 60 times in volume when heated, making them suitable for insulation and filling materials. The investment will allow AkzoNobel to serve its customers globally and contribute to the development of more sustainable and durable products.
