Operational Changes

The company plans to streamline its operations, which includes reorganizing its commercial and support functions, as well as its distribution network. This reorganization will involve transferring some outlets to independent partners and closing others, aiming to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Impact on Employment

As a result of these changes, AkzoNobel anticipates a reduction of up to 211 positions, while creating 29 new jobs in France. The implementation of this plan is scheduled to begin in May 2025 and conclude by the end of 2026. Consultation procedures with local social partners are already underway to address these workforce adjustments.

Previous Closures

In 2024, as part of its Industrial Excellence program, AkzoNobel announced the closure of manufacturing sites in Groot-Ammers (Netherlands), Cork (Ireland), and Lusaka (Zambia), with production being relocated to other regional facilities. Currently, the company employs 1,300 people in France.
