Perpetual Next and PreZero Netherlands to supply waste wood for biomethanol and biomethane

Key highlights
  • PreZero will structurally supply low‑grade waste wood to Perpetual Next’s Dutch factories in Delfzijl and Moerdijk.
  • The wood will be used to produce biomethanol and, via EemsGas (Perpetual Next shareholder), biomethane for the Dutch gas grid.
  • Perpetual Next has a standardized, replicable production concept for biomethanol based on proven industrial technologies to enable large‑scale rollout.
  • Intelmarket Research (May 2025) forecasts a compound annual growth rate of approximately 44.5% for biomethanol from 2025 to 2032.

Partnership and feedstock

Perpetual Next and PreZero Netherlands announced a collaboration in which PreZero will structurally supply Perpetual Next’s factories in Delfzijl and Moerdijk with low‑grade waste wood as feedstock.

Products and routes

The supplied wood will be used as raw material for biomethanol production and for conversion into biomethane; Perpetual Next is a shareholder in EemsGas, which focuses on converting waste wood into sustainable biomethane for the Dutch gas grid.

Production concept

Perpetual Next has developed a standardized concept for biomethanol production based on proven industrial technologies; the company presents this blueprint as easily replicable to support rapid, large‑scale rollout.

Market context

Research by Intelmarket Research (May 2025) projects a compound annual growth rate of about 44.5% for biomethanol between 2025 and 2032, reflecting strong anticipated global demand.
