PreZero Netherlands is a major environmental services and waste management company active across the Netherlands. It collects, sorts, recycles and processes a wide range of waste streams including paper and cardboard, plastics, construction and demolition waste, wood, e-waste and residual waste, converting them into new raw materials wherever possible.
The company operates approximately 55 locations with around 2,100 employees and serves some 42,000 customers, including businesses, municipalities and public institutions. It also runs dedicated facilities such as sorting plants for construction waste and plastics, as well as a waste-to-energy plant that produces electricity and heat from non-recyclable waste.
PreZero Netherlands forms the Dutch arm of the European PreZero group and is ultimately owned by the German Schwarz Group, the parent of retail chains Lidl and Kaufland. This structure enables integrated management of material flows from production and retail through to recycling and recovery.
The company positions itself as a leader in the circular economy, focusing on zero-waste solutions, resource efficiency and partnerships that keep materials in use. Recent collaborations include supplying low-grade waste wood as feedstock for sustainable biomethanol and biomethane production facilities in the Netherlands.
