Project Launch
On 5 September 2025, the Delta Rhine Corridor (DRC) project initiated its public project procedure. This international energy infrastructure project aims to transport hydrogen and CO2 between the Netherlands and Germany, with the first phase, DRC West, officially launched in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth.
Project Phases
The DRC project is divided into two phases: DRC West and DRC East. DRC West will focus on establishing hydrogen and CO2 pipelines between Rotterdam and Boxtel. DRC East will involve constructing a CO2 pipeline from Boxtel to the German border near Venlo. Each phase has its own permit procedures and opportunities for stakeholder participation.
Stakeholder Participation
The launch of the public procedure allows stakeholders, including local residents, businesses, and civil society organizations, to actively contribute to the project. From 5 September to 16 October, stakeholders can submit comments and share local knowledge to help optimize the project.
Project Goals
The Delta Rhine Corridor is a joint initiative of public and private entities in the Netherlands and Germany. It aims to make the industry more sustainable, prevent relocation, and strengthen international cooperation, contributing to a future-proof energy infrastructure.
