EBN

About EBN

EBN (Energie Beheer Nederland B.V.) is the Dutch state-owned energy company that manages the Netherlands’ participation in upstream oil and natural gas projects onshore and offshore. As a non-operating partner, EBN co-invests with operators across the North Sea and Dutch territory to support efficient, safe development and stewardship of subsurface resources and related infrastructure.

Aligned with the energy transition, EBN is active in carbon capture, transport and storage (CCS) and geothermal heat, and contributes to the decommissioning and re-use of offshore assets. It is a partner in major Dutch CCS initiatives such as Porthos and Aramis, aimed at capturing and storing CO2 from hard-to-abate industrial clusters, including chemicals and refining in the Rotterdam area. Through these roles, EBN helps enable secure energy supply while facilitating emissions reduction in the Netherlands and the wider North Sea region.
