Key highlights
  • Tender process opened for 200 km, 22mtpa CO2 pipeline from Maasvlakte to offshore storage.
  • Involved companies: EBN, Gasunie, Shell, TotalEnergies.
  • Further tenders include Trunkline Installation, Onshore works, and D-HUB.
  • FIDs expected 2026-2027, operational by 2030.

Tender Process Initiated

On 7 November 2025, the Aramis project took a significant step forward by opening the tendering process for the construction linepipe supply of its offshore pipeline. This follows a market consultation and pre-announcement in September 2025. The pipeline, spanning 200 km with a capacity of 22mtpa, will connect the Maasvlakte collection hub to offshore storage sites.

Project Partners and Goals

EBN and Gasunie, future investors in the project, are leading the tender process. The pipeline is a key component in the Aramis project, aimed at providing a decarbonization route through carbon capture, transport, and storage for hard-to-abate industries in the Netherlands and neighboring regions.

Future Tendering and Timelines

This is the second tender opened, with future tenders planned for Trunkline Installation works, Onshore works, and the Design, Fabrication, and Installation of D-HUB, as well as the supply of valves. The parties involved in the Aramis value chain plan to make Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) between 2026 and 2027, with the project expected to be operational by 2030.

EU Support and Funding

The Aramis project holds the Project of Common Interest (PCI) status and has received a Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) subsidy from the European Union, underscoring its importance in contributing to climate goals and supporting a sustainable future for the industry.
