Hynetwork (HyNetwork Services B.V.) is a Dutch energy infrastructure company focused on developing and operating the Netherlands’ national hydrogen transmission network. A wholly owned subsidiary of Gasunie, it has been tasked by the Dutch government to build an open-access hydrogen backbone that repurposes existing natural gas pipelines and adds new infrastructure where needed.
The network is designed to link major industrial clusters and ports—such as those around Rotterdam and other Dutch hubs—with cross-border connections to Belgium and Germany. By enabling reliable, large-scale hydrogen transport, Hynetwork supports decarbonization of the chemical, refining, and heavy industrial sectors, facilitating feedstock and fuel switching, integration of imports and domestic production, and connections to storage and distribution assets under a regulated, non-discriminatory access model.
