Thyssengas GmbH

About Thyssengas

Thyssengas GmbH is a German natural gas transmission system operator (TSO) headquartered in Dortmund. It operates a high-pressure pipeline network primarily in North Rhine-Westphalia and neighboring regions, transporting gas to utilities, industrial sites, power plants, and storage facilities. As a regulated network operator, Thyssengas provides grid access, capacity management, and system balancing in line with German and EU energy regulations.

The company is also preparing its network for the energy transition, including the conversion and development of infrastructure for hydrogen transport and interoperability with neighboring systems. Its activities support the secure supply of energy to major industrial clusters, notably in the Ruhr area, and the integration of future cross-border hydrogen flows between Germany and surrounding countries.
