Leadership change

Maarten van Dijk, co-founder and CEO of SkyNRG since 2009, has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer effective 31 December 2026. He will remain in post until that date and support the company through the handover during the first quarter of 2027. Van Dijk has led SkyNRG for more than 17 years and helped establish its role in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market.

Strategic transition and projects

SkyNRG is shifting from market development and project origination towards owning and operating large-scale SAF production and operations. Construction has started on DSL-01, the company’s first large-scale SAF production facility in the Netherlands. The company is also progressing international projects, including Project SkyKraft in Sweden and Project Wigeon in the United States, while pursuing strategic M&A opportunities and growing its commercial business.

Succession process and governance

The Board has initiated a search for a successor and appointed executive search firm Egon Zehnder to support the process. The Board said it respects Van Dijk’s personal decision, will ensure continuity during the transition, and remains confident in the leadership team and SkyNRG’s long-term growth prospects.
