Contract and Capacity

Fost Plus has awarded Morssinkhof Rymoplast Group a nine-year contract to recycle 10,500 tonnes of PET trays and 17,000 tonnes of PET bottles annually. The new mechanical recycling plant, MOPET Belgium, will be constructed in Neufchâteau to fulfill this purpose.

Technological Advancements

MOPET Belgium will be a pioneering facility in Europe for the efficient, large-scale recycling of PET trays. The majority of the recycled material will be used for tray-to-tray applications. The plant will also recycle various types of PET bottles, including transparent clear, transparent blue, transparent colored, and opaque bottles, with a significant portion being used to produce new bottles.

Investment and Innovation

An investment of EUR 30 million is being made to build this new plant. The site in Neufchâteau offers space to incorporate advanced recycling technology based on Cure Technology. This technology will enable the production of transparent recycled PET from complex and colored packaging, ensuring that all collected PET packaging can be used in high-end applications.
