Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has completed the expansion of its Macrolex dyes production plant at the CHEMPARK Leverkusen. The project involved an investment of over EUR 5 million, resulting in a 25% increase in production capacity. The expanded plant officially began operations at the beginning of May.

Meeting Global Demand

The expansion is a response to the growing global demand for high-quality dyes in the plastics industry. The increased capacity will support growth in sensitive application areas such as high-quality plastics packaging, where Macrolex solvent dyes meet stringent standards.

Job Creation

The investment also signifies a commitment to the Leverkusen site, creating six additional jobs. This development underscores the importance of the location in LANXESS's colorants business.

Applications of Macrolex Dyes

Macrolex dyes are soluble organic dyes primarily used to color high-quality plastic products, including beverage bottles, electronic equipment, car tail lights, and children’s toys. The LANXESS colorant additives business offers a portfolio of 150 products, supplying dyes and pigments to over 800 customers worldwide.
