Borealis Polymers in Beringen has received a EUR 1.4 million strategic investment grant from the Flemish Minister of Economy. This grant is part of a larger EUR 25 million investment by the Borealis group to optimize its production process at the Beringen plant.
Production Enhancements
The investment will be used to procure a new packing and transshipment system, among other improvements. These enhancements aim to further optimize the production process, ensuring greater efficiency and output quality.
Product Output
The Beringen plant specializes in producing polyethylene and polypropylene. These chemicals are versatile and can be transformed into various products, including household goods, furniture, furnishings, fabrics, and items used in the communication, computer, and medical sectors.
Employment Impact
As a result of these investments, 45 new jobs will be created at the Beringen division. This increase will bring the total number of employees in Flanders to 625, spread across Borealis' four business units in Beringen, Zwijndrecht, Kallo, and Mechelen.
