Project Development

INEOS Oxide has made significant progress on its Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) production project in Europe. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed with an unnamed commercial partner, and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies have commenced.

Plant Location and Capacity

The new plant will be located at one of INEOS Oxide’s European sites, either in Saltend, Hull, UK, or Zwijndrecht, Antwerp, Belgium. It will utilize proprietary fixed bed technology and have an initial nameplate capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year. Both locations offer advantaged feedstock supplies and are strategically positioned to serve both European and deep-sea VAM markets efficiently.

Timeline

The partners aim to complete the necessary engineering studies to make a final decision by 2018. Construction is targeted to begin in 2019, with the plant expected to be operational by early 2021.
