Nabaltec AG has successfully launched its production plant for the new mineral co-stabiliser ACTILOX CAHC. Located in Schwandorf, Germany, the plant has a yearly capacity of 10,000 metric tons.
Investment and Commissioning
The state-of-the-art chemical plant, commissioned in the last quarter of 2009, is fully process controlled and waste water free. The investment for the CAHC plant amounted to 18 million Euros, making it one of the largest single investments in Nabaltec's history.
Product Details
ACTILOX CAHC, a calcium aluminum hydrate carbonate, is a key component in heat stabilizers for polymers, particularly in heavy metal-free stabilizers used in PVC. The product, process, and application have been filed for patents.
Environmental Impact
The availability of ACTILOX CAHC in large scale enables the PVC industry to accelerate the phase-out of environmentally harmful additives, aligning with the "Vinyl 2010" sustainability initiative by the European PVC industry.
Packaging Options
ACTILOX CAHC is the first commercialized product within the new mineral co-stabiliser series of Nabaltec's Additives business unit. It can be delivered in polyethylene packaging, super sacks, and bulk.
