Arrival and Purpose

The Búzios 8 Production Development project includes 14 wells, comprising 8 producers and 6 WAG injectors. The field is located in ultra-deep waters, 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, at depths of up to 2,100 meters.
Construction and Partners
The P-79 was constructed by SAME Netherlands BV, a joint venture between SAIPEM Spa of Italy and Hanwha Ocean of South Korea. The hull was built in Geoje-Si, with topside modules integrated and commissioned in China, Brazil, South Korea, and Indonesia. The journey from the shipyard to Brazil took approximately 3 months. The Búzios consortium includes Petrobras as the operator, along with Chinese partners CNOOC, CNODC, and PPSA, which manages the production sharing contracts.
