Contract Details
ORLEN Neptun has signed a contract with Smulders for the storage and assembly of steel components at the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal. This agreement supports the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, developed by the PGE and Ørsted consortium.
Terminal Capabilities
The Świnoujście Offshore Terminal is designed to accommodate large vessels used in offshore wind projects, with turbines around 15 MW. It offers multimodal access by rail, ferry, air, and road, and its inland location ensures optimal weather conditions for year-round operations.
Future Projects
ORLEN Group holds licenses for five wind farms in the Baltic Sea, with a combined capacity of 5.2 GW. The first project, Baltic East, with a capacity of 1 GW, is being prepared for a December auction. Additional projects in the Ławica Odrzańska area are under development, with three of the five licenses expected to be operational by 2035 and full implementation by 2040.
Smulders' Role
Smulders, a manufacturer of offshore wind farm foundation structures, will lease space at the terminal for the delivery, storage, and assembly of Service Inspection Platforms. These components will be transported to their designated offshore locations, with final assembly taking place at the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal.
