Port of Amsterdam is the public port authority for the Amsterdam port area in the Netherlands. It plans, develops and manages port infrastructure and nautical access via the North Sea Canal, providing land, berths and utilities for maritime and industrial activities. The port is a major logistics hub in Northwest Europe, with strong clusters in liquid bulk—petroleum products, chemicals and biofuels—as well as dry bulk and general cargo. Extensive tank storage, blending and distribution operations support regional and international supply chains, with connections to the North Sea and to the European hinterland by inland waterways, road, rail and pipelines.
For the chemical and energy sectors, the port hosts storage terminals, process industry sites and distribution facilities, and coordinates permitting, safety and environmental oversight in line with Dutch and EU regulations. Development priorities include the energy transition and circular industrial activities, such as renewable fuels, waste-derived feedstocks and infrastructure to reduce emissions from shipping and industry.
