About CEA

Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA), known in English as the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, is France’s public research organization for nuclear and low‑carbon technologies. Founded in 1945, it conducts fundamental and applied R&D and provides technology transfer to industry across energy, digital, health, and defense domains. CEA participates in national and European research programs and operates major research centers, notably at Saclay, Grenoble, and Cadarache.
