The plant aims to produce synthetic fuels for the maritime and aviation sectors, addressing critical industries for global decarbonisation and enhancing regional fuel security.
Energy and Technology
Australia imports over 80% of its liquid fuels, which account for more than half of the nation's final energy demand. The project will leverage Australia's abundant low-carbon renewable energy resources and cutting-edge technologies to produce secure, low-carbon eFuels.
Axens' Contribution
Axens, a global technology provider, joins the project to offer proven process technologies and industrial analysis. This collaboration enhances the capabilities of the project team, which includes Downer's construction expertise, CEA's research leadership in eFuel synthesis, and H2Potential's expertise in hydrogen development.
