Authorization filing and project scope

TotalEnergies' wholly owned project company Centre Manche Energies has applied for the Single Authorization for a 1.5 GW offshore wind farm sited over 40 km off the Normandy coast; the project was awarded by the French State eight months earlier.

Technical and environmental work

The authorization dossier includes technical and environmental surveys, a preliminary wind-farm design and an installation programme; the environmental impact assessment incorporates survey findings, exchanges with government departments and input from regional consultations.

Permitting and stakeholder engagement

Next steps are finalisation of the dossier, government examination and continued consultations with local officials, environmental organisations, seafarers and the public to integrate the project into the regional economy and community.

Outputs, investment and supply chain

At build-out the farm is expected to generate about 6 TWh per year (roughly 1 million homes); investment is estimated at €4.5 billion, with up to 2,500 jobs during a three-year construction phase, and a sourcing emphasis on European suppliers for turbines and cables.
