Investment in Termoli Plant

Stellantis, in collaboration with its partners, plans to transform its existing Termoli plant in Italy into a new battery facility. This initiative is part of Automotive Cells Company’s (ACC) growth plans, which now include Mercedes-Benz as an equal partner alongside TotalEnergies/Saft and Stellantis.

Increased Industrial Capacity

The partners have committed to increasing ACC’s industrial capacity to at least 120 gigawatt hours (GWh) by 2030. This expansion aims to scale up the development and production of next-generation high-performance battery cells and modules.

Strategic Goals

As part of its Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, Stellantis aims to achieve global annual battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales of five million vehicles by 2030. The company targets a 100% BEV sales mix for passenger cars in Europe and 50% for passenger cars and light-duty trucks in the United States.

Battery Capacity Expansion

To support these goals, Stellantis has increased its planned battery capacity by 140 GWh, bringing the total to approximately 400 GWh. This capacity will be supported by five gigafactories and additional supply contracts.
