Milestone ceremony and attendees
On October 25, 2026 Wison New Energies held a keel-laying ceremony at its Nantong yard for the Sakarya Gas Field Phase 3 Floating Production Unit (FPU). The event was attended by Turkish energy officials and industry representatives, including Zafer Demircan, Ercan Kılınçkıran, Özlem Kural, Hüseyin Eyeci, Uğur Karakaş, Liu Hongjun, and representatives of DNV.
Construction status and scope
Hull block assembly commenced in the dry dock on schedule, marking transition into a major construction phase toward delivery of the ultra-deepwater FPU. The unit will perform gas processing, compression and export, with a gas export capacity of 25 million standard cubic meters per day.
Design parameters and project delivery
The FPU is designed for operation in ultra-deep water at 2,150 meters and a service life of 30 years, and is being built for Türkiye Petrolleri A.O. (TPAO) to support domestic natural gas supply. Wison said the move from hull block fabrication to assembly increases demands on on-site coordination and overall project management, and that it will leverage its integrated EPCIC capabilities to maintain safety and quality during execution.
