Project overview
Golden Pass LNG in Sabine Pass, Texas is a joint venture between QatarEnergy (70%) and ExxonMobil (30%), developed after a final investment decision in February 2019 exceeding USD 10 billion; the facility has an 18 Mtpa liquefaction capacity.
Production and offtake
Train 1 reached first LNG production on 30 March 2026 and the project has sustained liquefaction operations; QatarEnergy Trading will offtake 70% of the 18 Mtpa output.
Export milestone
The first export cargo was loaded at the Sabine Pass facility onto the Al-Qaiyyah LNG carrier, with a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, marking progress toward full commercial export operations.
