QatarEnergy Trading LLC (Arabic: قطر للطاقة للتجارة ذ.م.م) is a wholly owned subsidiary of QatarEnergy, Qatar's national energy company. Established in 2020 and based in Doha, it operates as a dedicated LNG trading arm, building a globally diversified portfolio of third-party and equity liquefied natural gas.
Its core activities encompass physical trading and origination, derivatives trading, freight trading, portfolio optimization, and trading risk management. The company handles significant offtake volumes, such as 70% of the 18 million tonnes per annum output from the Golden Pass LNG export facility in Sabine Pass, Texas—a joint venture between QatarEnergy (70%) and ExxonMobil (30%). This includes managing the first LNG export cargo loaded in 2026 aboard the Al-Qaiyyah carrier.
QatarEnergy Trading supports QatarEnergy's position as a global LNG leader, emphasizing the fuel's role in the energy transition through economic and environmental benefits.
