Price Adjustment
Petrobras will increase the sales price of diesel A for distributors by R$ 0.38 per liter starting 03/14. This adjustment translates to a R$ 0.32 per liter increase for diesel B at stations, considering the 85% diesel A and 15% biodiesel mix.
Historical Context
The last price adjustment by Petrobras was a reduction 311 days ago, on 05/06/2025. The previous increase occurred over 400 days ago, on 02/01/2025. Despite the current increase, diesel A prices for distributors have decreased by R$ 0.84 per liter since December 2022, a 29.6% drop when adjusted for inflation.
Government Measures
The impact on consumers is mitigated by the Federal Government's decision to eliminate PIS/Cofins taxes on diesel sales. Additionally, Petrobras has joined an economic subsidy program, offering R$ 0.32 per liter to beneficiary companies, as per Provisional Measure No. 1,340 of 03/12/2026.
Subsidy Program
The subsidy program's implementation depends on regulatory approval by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP). The combined effect of the price adjustment and potential subsidy benefit is R$ 0.70 per liter, with consumer impact reduced by government measures.
