Acquisition Details

Petrobras has acquired a 42.5% stake in Block 2613, located offshore in the Republic of Namibia. This acquisition was made in partnership with TotalEnergies, which also secured a 42.5% stake and will operate the block. The remaining shares are held by Eight Offshore Investment Holdings with 5% and Namcor Exploration and Production (PTY) Ltd, a state-owned Namibian company, with 10%. Maravilla Oil & Gas has exited the block.

Strategic Importance

The block is situated in the Lüderitz Basin, covering approximately 11,000 km². This acquisition aligns with Petrobras' strategy to diversify its portfolio and enhance its oil and gas reserves by exploring new frontiers. The company has identified the West African coast as a region with promising opportunities, similar to its previous ventures in São Tomé and Príncipe and South Africa.

Regulatory Approvals

The completion of this transaction is contingent upon meeting certain conditions, including obtaining necessary governmental and regulatory approvals from the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy of Namibia. The transaction adheres to Petrobras' corporate governance procedures and aligns with its 2026-2030 Business Plan.
