ORLEN Joins TNFD Initiative

At the 30th UN Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil, ORLEN became one of the first Polish organizations to adopt the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations. This move integrates nature-related impacts into their ESG disclosures.

Biodiversity Strategy

ORLEN's strategy includes a Biodiversity Policy initiated in 2023, focusing on minimizing ecosystem impacts, protecting species and habitats, and incorporating environmental analysis into projects. The Biodiversity Action Plan, based on the LEAP methodology, aims to systematically assess nature-related impacts and integrate findings into strategic planning.

Global TNFD Context

TNFD, supported by the UNDP, UNEP-FI, WWF, and G20, helps entities understand and manage nature-related dependencies and risks. Over 700 companies and financial institutions, representing more than USD 22 trillion in assets, have committed to implementing TNFD recommendations.

Future Reporting

ORLEN's adoption of TNFD standards will be reflected in its 2025 non-financial report, marking a step towards embedding environmental considerations across its business strategy.
