Moeve reports more than €33.8 million invested in 2025 across La Rábida Energy Park and the Palos Chemical Plant on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, soil improvement and water cycle optimisation. Both facilities operated in 2025 with electricity from 100% renewable sources, contributing to a reduction of almost 0.5 million tonnes of CO2 when compared to 2019.
Emissions and product changes
The Palos plant initiated biomethane use as an alternative fuel, reducing fossil CO2 emissions by 2,017 tonnes. The company also expanded its sustainable product range with NextPhenol‑Low Carbon.
Water, waste and circular economy
La Rábida recorded its lowest water consumption in over a decade, down 17.8% versus 2020, and expects to recover up to 2.5 hm3 of water annually via a new reuse plant under construction. Waste valorisation reached 71.3% for the complex and 88.3% at Palos, reusing streams such as raw‑water treatment sludge and process catalysts.
Projects, funding and community
Moeve secured €203 million from the European Commission's Innovation Fund for the Luxia project linking green hydrogen production with other units. Fundación Moeve highlighted Laguna Primera de Palos, marking its 25th anniversary and reporting up to 30 hectares restored by end‑2025, providing refuge for 80 threatened species. The statement is framed under the EMAS system with independent audits and published results.
