Deals signed during Germany state visit

Masdar concluded two memoranda of understanding during the UAE President’s State Visit to Germany: one with RWE to consider joint participation in future German offshore wind auctions and another with German asset manager Luxcara to explore investments in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and offshore wind.

Indicative investment scale

The RWE MoU carries an indicative investment value exceeding €3 billion. The Luxcara agreement contemplates strategic investments in BESS and offshore wind and a potential overall value in excess of €5 billion.

European platform and track record

Masdar’s European portfolio totals 15.6GW and includes projects such as the 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, now fully operational. The company has invested over US$13 billion across the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Central and Southeastern Europe.

Strategic intent

The agreements aim to expand Masdar’s long‑term presence in Germany and Europe by combining large‑scale renewable generation with storage to support grid flexibility, and to contribute to Europe’s energy infrastructure as the company advances toward its 100GW 2030 target.
