Deal context
ADNOC, XRG and Masdar signed multiple agreements with German companies during the UAE president's state visit, following a separate UAE announcement of €40 billion of intended long-term investment in Germany. The combined agreements have the potential to enable more than €5 billion of investment by linking UAE energy capital and assets with German industrial and technology partners.
Key energy and industrial agreements
ADNOC and RWE signed a Letter of Intent to progress up to two long-term LNG sales and purchase agreements, with supply from ADNOC Gas’ and XRG’s LNG portfolio (Ruwais, Das, Rio Grande, Mozambique and Argentina) expected to commence in the early 2030s. ADNOC, XRG and SEFE agreed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities across natural gas and LNG value chains including supply, infrastructure, logistics and portfolio optimisation.
Materials, renewables and low‑carbon supply chains
TA’ZIZ and Covestro signed a Letter of Intent to advance a feasibility study into a world‑scale MDI value chain in Ruwais, targeting a decision and potential start‑up in the early 2030s. Covestro, Fertiglobe and MB Energy signed an MoU to explore low‑carbon ammonia supply chains into Germany. Masdar signed MoUs with RWE and Luxcara to consider participation in German offshore wind auctions and joint investments in offshore wind and battery storage.
Technology collaboration and existing footprint
ADNOC signed strategic collaboration agreements with Bosch Middle East, Siemens Energy and Siemens Industrial to explore advanced technology and artificial intelligence applications. The companies note more than €20 billion already invested in Germany, including XRG's €14 billion in Covestro, Masdar’s Baltic Eagle offshore wind asset and ADNOC’s 1.6 MTPA of long‑term LNG into the German market.
