Agreement and scope
Koch Technology Solutions (KTS) and Noventra Limited have executed a Technology Upgrade Retrofit License Agreement for Noventra’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) facility at Port Qasim, Pakistan. The deal covers selected technology upgrades intended to improve plant performance and support Noventra’s operational objectives.
Technical deliverables
Under the agreement KTS will deliver the technology license and a Process Design Package (PDP) for the approved upgrade scope, establishing the technical basis for the next phase of project development and implementation. The project is presented as an example of how existing PTA facilities can capture additional value through targeted modernization.
Objectives and context
KTS positions the work as expected to produce meaningful gains in energy efficiency and to strengthen the facility’s environmental footprint and competitiveness. Noventra said the license aligns with its vision to bring PTA manufacturing to zero net electricity consumption and noted the partnership with KTS spans more than 30 years, enabling a plant built in the 1990s to compete with more modern PTA facilities.
