Koch Technology Solutions and INVISTA announced a strategic collaboration to commercialize INVISTA’s proven nitrous oxide (N2O) abatement technology, leveraging capabilities across Koch companies to address greenhouse gas emissions and regulatory pressures.
Technology performance and track record
The abatement platform reduces N2O emissions from adipic acid manufacturing; the company notes nitrous oxide has a carbon dioxide equivalence of nearly 300. The technology is already operational at four industrial reference sites and has delivered documented performance, reliability and environmental impact in the field.
Combined recently licensed and historically installed operations — with installations dating back to the 1990s — account for more than 75 million tons CO2e of annual abatement capacity installed worldwide.
Commercialisation and market access
KTS will apply its licensing and engineering expertise alongside INVISTA’s operational experience to scale the solution to broader industry customers. The partners invite industry organisations to explore the technology to meet emissions-reduction targets, compliance requirements and long-term operational objectives. The partnership aligns with KTS’s strategy of expanding its technology portfolio to deliver licensing solutions across chemical process lines.
