PTT Global Chemical strengthens petrochemicals, accelerates Specialty and Green & Bio; positions Map Ta Phut as APAC growth base

Financial performance
GC reported strong results in 2026 so far, with Q2 Adjusted EBITDA at 26,932 million baht and net profit of 12,208 million baht; H1 Adjusted EBITDA reached 41,777 million baht with net profit of 15,440 million baht.
Operational flexibility and efficiency
GC is leveraging its Integrated Value Chain and raw‑material flexibility (gas and liquids) to improve feedstock security and cost management. The US ethane import project remains on schedule to start in 2029. Efficiency measures under Holistic Optimization and the Digital 3 Smarts (Smart Plant, Smart Sales & Marketing, Smart Work Process) are reducing costs and raising competitiveness, with 2025 savings exceeding targets and further savings planned for 2026.
Strategic portfolio shift
Between 2026–2030 GC aims to rebalance its portfolio toward higher‑value lines, targeting a move from ~80:20 to ~70:30 commodity:specialty by 2030. Studies include a potential olefins/polyolefins joint venture with SCGC, with conclusions expected by end Q3 2026.
Specialty Chemicals and allnex
GC will leverage allnex to expand Specialty Chemicals. allnex performance exceeded plans in H1 2026 and is expanding production—adding Sagging Control Agent capacity at Map Ta Phut (first base outside Europe) and growing hubs in China (Jiaxing) and India (Mahad).
Green & Bio
GC builds on decade‑long capabilities across biofuels, biochemicals, bioplastics, oleochemicals and recycled plastics. Investments include NatureWorks' integrated PLA plant at Nakhon Sawan, activities with GGC and Emery Oleochemicals, and ENVICCO's food‑grade recycled pellets.
Map Ta Phut transformation and people
Under the MTP Transformation strategy Map Ta Phut is being positioned as a regional growth base combining general, specialty and Green & Bio capabilities. GC cites innovation culture (GC StandOut Through INnovation) and more than 1,000 employee ideas in one year as drivers of ongoing improvement and future growth.
