Discovery
Eni announced the Denise W-1 well in the Temsah Concession offshore Egypt found an estimated ~2 Tcf gas initially in place and about 130 Mbbl of associated condensate.
Reservoir and location
The discovery lies ~70 km offshore in 95 m of water, features a high-quality gas-bearing sandstone reservoir with about 50 m of net pay and is located less than 10 km from existing infrastructure enabling tie-in options.
Development potential
Proximity to existing facilities and reservoir characteristics support fast-track development and near-field, infrastructure-led exploration synergies with nearby producing fields such as Temsah.
Operatorship and concession
Eni and bp each hold 50% working interest on the Denise Development Lease, operated through Petrobel (the Eni–EGPC joint venture), and the discovery follows a binding July 2025 agreement with EGPC and EGAS renewing the Temsah Concession for 20 years.
