RWE Subsidiary Board Changes

Leadership Changes

Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, will leave the company on 31 March 2026 to join the Management Board of Vonovia as Chief Development Officer. Sopna Sury will succeed her as CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia starting 1 April 2026.

New Responsibilities

Sopna Sury, who has been a member of the Executive Board of RWE Generation since February 2021, has successfully developed the hydrogen business for RWE. Prior to this, she held the position of Director Strategy, Regulation and Integration Management at RWE Renewables from autumn 2019 and has extensive experience from various management roles at Uniper and E.ON.

Hydrogen Business Transition

With Sury's transition to her new role, Nikolaus Valerius, CEO of RWE Generation, will take over responsibility for the hydrogen business in addition to his current duties.
