Greensand Future, known as Project Greensand, is a carbon capture and storage (CCS) developer based in Denmark. The initiative is building a full‑chain solution that links CO₂ capture, interim storage, and ship‑based transport to permanent geological storage in depleted offshore reservoirs in the Danish North Sea.
The project focuses on creating infrastructure and services for third‑party emitters, enabling safe handling, transport, injection, and long‑term monitoring of CO₂ under Danish and EU regulations. Its plans are designed to scale from early volumes to commercial capacity in the mid‑2020s.
For the chemical and other hard‑to‑abate industries, Project Greensand enables verifiable CO₂ abatement by providing contracted storage capacity and cross‑border logistics. Activities span engineering, permitting, and integration across the CCS value chain in collaboration with energy and maritime partners.
