About Mura

Mura Technology (Mura) is a UK-based developer and operator of advanced plastic recycling solutions for the chemical industry. The company focuses on converting difficult-to-recycle, mixed and contaminated plastic waste into circular hydrocarbon feedstocks that can be used in existing petrochemical and polymer production assets. Mura works with resin producers, refiners, and brand owners to enable the use of recycled content at scale.

Mura’s core process, Hydro-PRT (hydrothermal plastic recycling technology), uses supercritical water to break down waste plastics into oil-range products such as naphtha and distillates. These outputs can be refined and cracked to produce new monomers and polymers. Unlike mechanical recycling, the process is designed to handle flexible packaging and multi-layer streams and to deliver outputs suitable for manufacturing virgin-quality plastics when reintroduced via mass-balance approaches. Mura commercializes its technology through projects and partnerships and is developing a network of facilities in key chemical hubs globally.
