Export and Investment Fund of Denmark

About EIFO

Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO; Danish: Eksport- og Investeringsfonden) is Denmark’s state-owned export credit and investment agency. Established in 2023 through the merger of EKF Denmark’s Export Credit Agency, the Danish Growth Fund (Vækstfonden) and Denmark’s Green Investment Fund, EIFO provides guarantees, loans, export credits and equity/co-investments to Danish companies and to international buyers of Danish goods and services. It works alongside commercial banks and investors to finance capital-intensive projects and support international trade.

For the chemical and process industries, EIFO typically backs projects and supply contracts related to production plants, advanced materials, energy and decarbonization technologies, offering risk coverage, buyer credit and project finance instruments that enable large-scale investments and secure supply chains. EIFO operates under the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs with policy objectives that include competitiveness, climate impact and security of supply.
