Dangote Industries Limited (also known as the Dangote Group) is a Nigerian multinational industrial conglomerate founded in 1981 by Aliko Dangote. The group operates across multiple sectors, including cement, sugar, salt and seasonings, packaging, logistics, agriculture, real estate, and power, with a footprint spanning several African countries. Several businesses within the group are publicly listed in Nigeria.
For the chemical and process industries, Dangote’s activities center on hydrocarbon refining, petrochemicals, and fertilizers. The group owns the Dangote Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals complex in the Lekki Free Zone, Lagos, designed as an integrated facility producing transportation fuels and selected petrochemical products (including polypropylene). Adjacent operations include a large-scale ammonia and urea fertilizer plant supplying both domestic and export markets. These assets are supported by in-house infrastructure such as port, storage, and logistics capabilities, positioning the company as a key participant in West Africa’s energy, petrochemical, and fertilizer value chains.
