Honeywell to support Dangote’s petrochemical expansion

Project scope
Honeywell UOP will supply Oleflex technology plus petrochemical process technologies and catalysts to Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE to support on-site production of base chemicals used in plastics and detergents.
Production capacities
The Oleflex unit will add 750,000 metric tons per year of propylene; a suite of petrochemical technologies and catalysts will enable production of 400,000 metric tons per year of linear alkylbenzene (LAB), with the Lekki LAB plant slated to be among the world’s largest.
Strategic impact
The new capabilities target increased regional supply of packaging materials, consumer and industrial goods, and detergents, with aims to reduce import dependence and support local industrial growth and supply-chain resilience.
