Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) is Ethiopia’s state-owned investment holding company and sovereign wealth fund. It was established by the federal government to consolidate, manage, and grow public commercial assets and strategic investments, and to help attract capital into priority sectors of the economy. EIH is headquartered in Addis Ababa.
The institution oversees stakes in state-owned enterprises and project companies across infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, mining, telecoms, logistics, and real estate. It structures partnerships with domestic and international investors, mobilizes financing for greenfield and brownfield developments, and supports industrialization initiatives. For the chemical industry, EIH acts as a co-investor and enabler for large-scale projects such as fertilizers and related upstream feedstock and infrastructure developments in Ethiopia.
