BioBTX

BioBTX is a Dutch technology developer focused on converting mixed plastic waste and biomass into circular aromatics. Its core platform, Integrated Cascading Catalytic Pyrolysis (ICCP), upgrades heterogeneous feedstocks into drop-in benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) that can be processed in existing petrochemical value chains.

By combining catalytic pyrolysis with tailored catalyst and process design, BioBTX targets high BTX selectivity while limiting light-gas formation and impurities. The resulting renewable aromatics serve as feedstocks for products such as PET, polyurethanes, coatings, solvents, and other derivatives, supporting lower-carbon and fossil-independent supply chains. The company advances its technology through pilot and demonstration activities and collaborates with industry partners with a view to scale-up and licensing.
